The rules of using Localyzed.

Last updated: May 2026. Plain-language version. The legalese version is coming — for now, use this as the agreement between you and Localyzed.

What Localyzed is

Localyzed is a marketplace. People who live in a city (“locals”) publish recommendations and optionally sell custom itineraries. People who travel there (“travelers”) pay to unlock those recommendations and chat with the local. We facilitate the connection and process payments. We don't curate or fact-check what locals recommend.

Your account

You're responsible for what happens under your account. Don't share your magic-link emails or sign-in codes with anyone. If something looks suspicious, email us right away at hello@getlocalyzed.com.

If you're a local

You set your own prices for unlock + itineraries. Localyzed keeps 20% of every sale; the rest pays out to your Stripe account on Stripe's normal payout schedule.

You agree to keep your picks reasonably accurate and updated. Don't recommend places that don't exist, businesses you have an undisclosed financial relationship with, or anything illegal in the city you're writing about.

If you commit to an itinerary, deliver it on time. If you can't, decline the request — don't leave a traveler hanging. Repeated no-shows are grounds for removal from the platform.

If you're a traveler

Unlocking a guide gives you permanent access to their picks + chat with them. Itineraries are paid per-request after the local accepts and delivers. Once paid, the itinerary is yours forever; we don't do general “changed my mind” refunds, but if the local doesn't deliver after payment we'll make it right.

Treat the local with respect. They're sharing real recommendations; don't harass them or use the chat for anything they didn't sign up for.

Payments + refunds

Payments are processed by Stripe. You authorize Localyzed to charge the payment method you provide for any unlocks or itineraries you initiate. Refunds for legitimate reasons (the local didn't deliver a paid itinerary, the unlock failed, etc.) can be requested by emailing us within 14 days of the transaction. Standard chargebacks via your bank are also available.

Content you post

Anything you publish on Localyzed — picks, descriptions, reviews, messages, itineraries — you keep ownership of. You grant us a license to display it on the platform and use it for product improvement. We never use private chat content for marketing or training models.

Things we don't allow

No spam, no harassment, no impersonation, no fake reviews, no picks for places that don't exist, no content that's illegal in the city you're writing about. We'll remove content and accounts that break these.

No warranty

Localyzed is provided as-is. We can't guarantee that a recommendation is still accurate, that a restaurant won't close, or that a local will respond instantly. We do our best to make the platform reliable, but use your judgment.

Changes to these terms

We'll update the “Last updated” date at the top when we change anything material. For changes that affect existing transactions or accounts, we'll also email everyone with an active account.
